Jessica Selikplim Kpai is an emerging finance and tax professional with a strong academic foundation in Actuarial Science, a discipline that integrates mathematics, statistics, and financial theory to assess risk and future uncertainty, particularly within the areas of insurance, taxation, and investment. Her rigorous academic background has sharpened her analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making skills, providing a robust foundation for her growing interest in the world of tax policy and public finance. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Professional Studies in Accra, Ghana. She is also an Assistant Corporate Support Officer at Merton & Everett LLP in Ghana.
Jessica’s passion for taxation was sparked by a deep curiosity about the interplay between tax systems, corporate behavior, and national development. This interest evolved into a clear professional focus on areas such as tax policymaking, corporate taxation, and inclusive tax reforms in developing economies. Jessica currently serves as an Academic Affairs Officer at Emmanuel Onyeabor Tax Initiative (EOTI), where she supports educational programs that promote tax literacy and capacity-building. She is also a participant in the inaugural cycle of EOTI’s Professional Graduate Tax Mentorship Program, a prestigious global initiative connecting early-career professionals with expert mentors in the field of taxation.
Beyond her finance-focused work, Jessica has cultivated strong competencies in digital communication, public relations, and content strategy. As Public Relations Officer for the Actuarial Science Students Association of Ghana and Social Media Lead at Jodo Edupath, she has led initiatives to enhance visibility and engagement through well-curated social media campaigns and compelling storytelling. She further contributed as Marketing & Communications Staff for the Life-Link Model United Nations Conference 2025, helping to craft the digital voice of one of Ghana’s most impactful youth diplomacy platforms.
Jessica is also a Peer Mentor with the Yemiyifour Foundation, where she supports young girls in navigating their educational and personal development journeys. Passionate, multidisciplinary, and impact-driven, Jessica aspires to become a thought leader in tax policy and strategy, leveraging both her analytical skills and communication expertise to influence equitable and efficient tax systems that empower developing and emerging economies.
