Athanasius Akor

Athanasius Akor is a legal, tax, accounting, and finance professional with about seven (7) years’ extensive cognate experience in taxation, commercial disputes resolution, and corporate finance. He is a Senior Associate in the tax and regulatory services of EY Nigeria, a “Big 4” global professional services firm. He was most recently a Senior Associate in the tax and commercial disputes resolution practices of G. Elias & Co., a top-rated commercial law firm in Nigeria with its head offices in Lagos. His legal practice focuses on tax and commercial disputes resolution. His tax specialties include general corporate tax, tax controversy, and consumer and industrial markets tax. Athanasius holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with First Class Honours from the University of Nigeria. He also obtained his legal practice qualifying certificate (BL) with First Class Honours from the Nigerian Law School. Athanasius holds professional memberships of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also the President of the Emmanuel Onyeabor Tax Initiative (EOTI), a non-jurisdictional virtual non-profit organization committed to advancing the field of tax and supporting the cross-border tax capacity development of aspiring and growing global tax professionals through practical tax mentorship and training programs designed to meet their learning needs.
